George Ambrose Hearst, nicknamed Boy-the-Earth-Talks-To by the Indians, is a main character and an antagonist in HBO's Deadwood as well as Deadwood: The Movie. He serves as the overarching antagonist of the second season and the primary antagonist of both the third season and Deadwood: The Movie.
At first, Hearst sent one of his employees and most trusted ally Francis Wolcott to Deadwood to investigate the claims. He later arrives in Deadwood himself and causes a lot of problems for the town's residents with his plans to buy all the gold claims. By 1889, Hearst became senator of California and once again returned to Deadwood.
He is portrayed by Gerald McRaney.
